# Agent Skills aren't just prompts

An agent can write a polished QBR and still miss the churn signal sitting in plain sight. Usually the model isn't dumb: it just doesn't have the workflow judgment your best CS lead carries around.

A prompt in a tab dies when the tab closes. A skill can travel across tools and stay versioned. The bar we use: specific to a real job, operational enough to review, portable enough that we're not maintaining five slightly different copies.
